Sajad's new life

The little Sajad, three years old, was born with a congenital heart defect known as “atrial septal defect”.

The treatment for such a defect is open-heart surgery which is not available everywhere in Afghanistan.

Fortunately, this type of surgery can be performed at the Kabul French Medical Institute for Children.

Medical expenses, transportation costs from the province of Kapisa and accommodation in Kabul amounted to $3,000 for Sajad and his family.

Thanks to the Children Pavilion, Sajad was operated on under the best possible conditions with all costs covered by La Chaîne de l’Espoir.
