World Doctors Orchestra 2019

The World Doctors Orchestra (WDO) will perform on June 8 at the Philharmonie de Paris for a charity concert dedicated to La Chaîne de l'Espoir.
For the 11th consecutive year, more than a hundred doctors from all over the world, all passionate about music, will take off their white coats for a moment and take on the role of musicians. They will be giving two remarkable concerts in France in aid of La Chaîne de l’Espoir and the Fondation Curie.

An exceptional concert in aid of La Chaîne de l’Espoir

On the program for this evening at the Philharmonie, 133 musicians of 19 nationalities will perform Gustav Malher’s Third Symphony under the direction of Stefan Willich, Professor of Medicine and founder of the WDO, with Delphine Haidan, mezzo soprano, the 60 choristers of the Nicolas De Grigny women’s choir and La Maîtrise d’Enfants de la Cathédrale de Reims, made up of around 30 children.

True to their ethos, the WDO musicians and conductors are all volunteers, and through their music they pass on their message that access to healthcare is a fundamental right for everyone, regardless of frontiers.

On June 7, the WDO will be in Reims to perform the same concert at the Basilique Saint-Rémi in Reims during the Flâneries Musicales Festival.

Profits will be donated to La Chaîne de l’Espoir and the Fondation Curie.
