Thanks to you, Thida is cured

01/09/2020 – Thida is doing very well

Mariela, open-heart surgery in Madagascar

After open-heart surgery in Cambodia by doctors trained by La Chaîne de l’Espoir, Thida is now doing very well.

She’s got all her energy back and can now enjoy the new life you’ve given her.

12/27/2019 – Thida’s life is threatened

Recently, we received a call for help from Cambodia, from our friend Sopheap Phuong, who manages consultations for children cared for by La Chaîne de l’Espoir, at Calmette Hospital in Phnom Penh. That’s how we discovered little Thida’s story.

Thida, aged 2, lives with her parents in a small wooden house built on stilts in the province of Kandal, around 100 km from Phnom Penh. From birth, the little Cambodian suffers from a heart defect that causes her severe breathing difficulties, and prevents her from growing normally.

When fate takes its toll on a family

Her parents are very worried, and feel as if fate is closing in on their family. In the past, they have already lost a child who succumbed to a fragile heart… Their dearest dream is to be able to save their little girl this time.

Urgent surgery

Only open-heart surgery can save her. Unfortunately, the cost of the operation is insurmountable for this family, which earns less than 150 euros a month.

His father, a mechanic, is already struggling to support his family, so how can he afford such an operation?

Together, let’s give hope to this family

If we all pull together, these parents will be able to return home with a healed child. Thida will then be able to breathe normally and run like any other child her age…

That’s why we’re appealing to your generosity: by making a donation now, you’ll be helping to save this little girl, and changing the destiny of an entire family.
