Door-to-door campaign

1) What is door-to-door sales?

Door-to-door donation is a way of knocking on people’s doors to offer them long-term support for our work. They are then invited to become regular donors by direct debit.

2) How does our door-to-door campaign work?

Mariela, open-heart surgery in Madagascar
From February 21 to July 31, 2022, teams commissioned by our association will visit people’s homes to explain the missions of La Chaîne de l’Espoir, and then invite them to support our cause.

If you wish to support our actions, you can fill in a support form (on a touch-screen tablet) and make a monthly donation. They then share their bank details (RIB) so that the direct debit can be set up. Thanks to the electronic signature, a copy of the direct debit mandate is automatically sent by email or SMS. In the following days, the person contacted will receive a telephone call to thank them for their commitment, confirm their contact details and check that the regular donation has been properly understood.

As soon as the person wishes to become a regular donor, the mandated teams hand-deliver a welcome envelope containing :

  • a letter,
  • a newsletter La Chaîne & Vous,
  • a bookmark,
  • a window sticker,
  • a leaflet.

3) How can I identify La Chaîne de l’Espoir door-to-door teams?

In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, our teams will continue to wear surgical masks and respect physical distance when visiting people’s homes.

To make them clearly identifiable, teams are given a name badge (with their photo and ambassador number) and wear the colors of La Chaîne de l’Espoir: t-shirt or orange k-way, depending on the season, with the association’s logo.

Other elements certify their accreditation or affiliation with La Chaîne de l’Espoir:

  • A letter of authorization stating that they are authorized to recruit donors for La Chaîne de l’Espoir.
  • A fact sheet setting out the association’s actions in figures and images.

If you have any doubts about the identity of our teams, don’t hesitate to call Donor Relations on 01 44 12 66 49. They will be able to confirm the identity of the recruiters.

4) What are the opening hours for our door-to-door teams?

Our teams will be active from Monday to Saturday, from 9:30 am to 8:00 pm.

5) Can our teams collect cash?

No, our teams never ask for cash or checks. This is strictly forbidden.

6) Are town halls aware of our campaign?

Yes, before the start of each campaign, we send town councils a preliminary declaration of presence in their municipality by email and post. The period and number of days of presence are specified.

7) Is it dangerous to give out my bank details?

No, there is no risk of fraud when you give your bank details via a RIB.

It is in fact impossible to debit an account from one individual to another with a single RIB.

It is only possible to :

  • credit an account.
  • debit an account within the framework of a SEPA direct debit mandate in favor of the organization mentioned on the mandate by a creditor number. La Chaîne de l’Espoir’s creditor number appears on all support forms.

8) How do I cancel my donation?

You can cancel your donation by sending an e-mail to donateurs@chainedelespoir.org

or by contacting the Donor Relations Department on 01 44 12 66 49.
