Discover the story of Phong treated in our Children’s Pavilion

In Vietnam, many families living in rural areas have no access to medical care. Some serious pathologies cannot be treated locally, leaving children untreated. To remedy this, the Pavillon des Enfants in Hô Chi Minh-Ville, supported by La Chaîne de l'Espoir and the Fondation Alain Deloche, has been offering them comprehensive care for vital treatments since 2018.

A welcome structure in the heart of the city

Located in Hô Chi Minh City, close to the Tan Duc Hospital where our volunteer teams have trained local surgeons, the Pavillon des Enfants is run by the Congregation of Dominican and Franciscan Sisters. This reception center accompanies children and their families throughout their treatment: transport, accommodation, meals and post-operative care.

With a capacity of ten beds, the Pavilion receives children every year from all regions of Vietnam, even the most remote, such as the highlands and border areas.

Over 200 children have already been cared for since the opening.

Phong’s journey, a small beneficiary of the Ho Chi Minh City Pavilion

Three-year-old Phong, from the mountainous region of Gia Lai in the heart of Vietnam, faced an immense challenge from birth: a life-threatening heart condition. His family, farmers living some 500 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City, were unable to finance the necessary treatment.

The Pavillon des Enfants welcomed Phong and his mother during his first heart surgery when he was just one year old. Today, Phong is about to undergo another operation, and the Pavillon continues to play an essential role in his care, welcoming him and his mother.
This support enables Phong’s family to concentrate fully on his health while awaiting the imminent operation.

The Children’s Pavilion in Vietnam is an example of La Chaîne de l’Espoir’s commitment to providing quality care for vulnerable children. Thanks to this structure, hundreds of families have already been able to find the help they need to give their children a better future.
