Afghanistan: mobilized to continue providing care
At a time when Afghanistan is going through an alarming humanitarian crisis, we remain mobilized to provide training in women's health and combat malnutrition.
During the summer of 2023, a gynecology mission led by Dr. Azadah Yacoub, obstetrician-gynecologist at Dijon’s University Hospital Center (CHU), trained surgeons, doctors and midwives at the French Medical Institute for Mothers and Children (IMFE), one of the country’s only hospitals capable of treating complex pathologies.
Twenty women benefited from surgery during this mission.
What’s more, with 98% of the Afghan population now living below the poverty line, our nutrition unit is more vital than ever to saving children’s lives.
A donation of 23.5 tonnes of re-nutrition sachets from Nutriset is helping to ensure the care of malnourished young Afghans and children awaiting surgery.
