News from Konan

We’ve asked for your help in treating Konan, a little Malian boy with a severely deformed face.

Konan was suffering froma cleft lip and was having great difficulty feeding himself. As this malformation is also synonymous with a curse in Mali, the little boy was living on the margins of society: he needed emergency surgery!

His family, from a village in the Sikasso region of Mali, did not have the means to operate on the child.

A new face for Konan

Thanks to your generosity, Konan was able to be treated by Dr Jean Vendroux and his team. The operation went well, and his lip and palate were repaired.

With his new face, Konan will be able to make friends, eat properly and grow up!
