Good news for Jaro
When Jaro arrived in his foster home in France for surgery, his health was very worrying. He was very short of breath and had severe growth retardation.
Eleven months old, this little boy from Cameroon had been suffering from ventricular septal defect, a very serious heart condition, since birth. Only open-heart surgery could save him. Unfortunately, his country does not yet have the infrastructure to perform such an operation.
That’s why Jaro was welcomed in France for several months to undergo surgery at theHaut-Lévêque hospital, at Bordeaux University Hospital.

“After his convalescence, Jaro was able to return to his family. He still needs to be monitored medically, but the news is good! Today, he’s growing, walking, running and even playing ball!”
