Céleste: from miracle to cure
Born with a rare and complex malformation of the heart - a transposition of the large vessels - the survival of Céleste, a two-year-old Mozambican girl, was a minor miracle. Children with this condition normally require surgery within the first few days of life.
Your mobilization helped save Céleste.
Thanks to you, Céleste was finally able to benefit from an operation during a mission led by cardio-pediatric surgeon Dr. Régis Gaudin and his team from Hôpital Necker in Paris, at the Heart Institute in Maputo.
During this mission, fourteen other young patients were also operated on. Today, Céleste is doing wonderfully well. At her last ultrasound check-up, the results were excellent.
Her mother, Flora, is relieved and overjoyed to see her daughter rediscover her zest for life. “Céleste is in great shape, she plays a lot and is always in a good mood!she says with emotion.
Thank you for responding to our appeal to support Céleste!
