Burkina Faso: a new smile mission
From June 1 to 10, a facial reconstructive surgery mission took place at the Bogodogo University Hospital in Ouagadougou.
The mission was led by Prof. Narcisse Zwetyenga, maxillo-facial surgeon, University Professor and head of department at Dijon University Hospital.
During this pediatric surgery mission, 45 children suffering from facial malformations or noma – an extremely serious pathology that “eats away” the face – were operated on.
Finally, the humanitarian mission carried out by Pr Narcisse Zwetyenga and his team enabled 78 children to benefit from medical consultations.
