Issa has been waiting too long for an operation!

Let's help him smile again and finally lead a normal life.

Issa, 13, has been suffering from a cleft lip since birth, a malformation which, in addition to its discriminating appearance, weakens his growth by preventing him from eating and breathing properly. In Africa, cleft lip and palate affects 1 in 4,000 births. This facial deformity occurs during pregnancy and is caused by genetic or environmental factors.

In Burkina Faso, Issa’s parents have spent years looking for doctors who could take care of their boy, who struggles to eat and does not grow normally.

Issa was suffering from malnutrition and stunted growth when our medical teams examined him for the first time. His handicap, which deforms part of his face, also earns him a lot of mockery from the other children…

Hope was restored when the boy’s parents found out from our doctors that an operation was possible. But how to finance this operation with such a meagre income and 4 other children to raise? Yet our doctors in Ouagadougou operate on around a hundred children with this condition every year. With your support, we could finance Issa’s maxillofacial operation, as well as those of other children whose wait is interminable.

1,500 is the cost of her operation and the necessary post-operative care that should enable her to grow up and smile again.

Thanks to you, Issa will no longer be teased and will be able to lead a normal life.

The more you donate, the less Issa waits.
