In Vietnam, Teo needs emergency open-heart surgery!

To save it, we need your help.

Teo is 7 years old, lives in Kontum in the highlands of Vietnam and has trouble breathing. At the slightest effort, he has to stop and squat to try to catch his breath. These terrible symptoms only worsen over time.

Mariela, open-heart surgery in Madagascar

Her worried parents approached the Dominican sisters who run a small dispensary in the area.

Given the seriousness of the case, they organized everything: Teo’s journey with his mother to Ho Chi Minh City and his admission to the Children’s Pavilion, located right next to Tan Duc Hospital.

There, other nuns run the home we have opened to receive children from all over the country, before the operation and throughout their convalescence.

Surgery must be considered as soon as possible!

At the hospital, doctors diagnosed Teo’s complex cardiac pathology: a malformation of the pulmonary artery combined with abnormal communication between the heart’s two ventricles. Surgery was urgently needed! Cardiac surgeon Dr Phuong will perform open-heart surgery on Teo. Not only will the opening between the two ventricles have to be blocked, but a prosthesis will also have to be placed on the narrowed pulmonary artery. A complicated double operation, but also an expensive one, not least because of the prosthesis.

To save it, we need your help

5,000 euros are needed for Teo to benefit from this operation. Those of you who have already helped us in the past, we’re asking you to make another gesture of pure generosity to save this child. Then his name will be added to those of Sorya, Kouassi, Edem and all the others who have regained their health because you were there!

Thank you for doing the impossible with us!
