How much longer can Mai ‘s heart hold out?
Little Mai, aged 5, was suffering from a severe cough and unable to eat properly, when her parents finally managed to get her examined by one of our medical teams.
The diagnosis was clear: the little girl was suffering from an alarming cardiac malformation: a defect in the closure between the partitions of the right and left ventricles, causing interventricular blood leakage.
Open-heart surgery is vital for the child, whose blood needs to be reoxygenated as quickly as possible.
An only child, her parents, small farmers, are ready to do anything to save her. How can they save their child with their precarious and irregular income?
La Chaîne de l’Espoir, which has a Children’s Pavilion in Vietnam, cared for over 70 children in 2023, the majority of them with heart defects. The cardiac pediatrics department could take care of Maï, her operation and her convalescence for several weeks. But for this, we need your support: €1,500 is the cost of her open-heart surgery, which could give her a new lease of life.
Every day Maï waits is a day that wears on her ailing heart. Please help us save her.
We would like to thank you in advance for your generosity.
The more you give, the less Mai waits.
