A new equipment donation to “Le Luxembourg” Mother and Child Hospital

A second life for equipment, a new life for those who benefit from it.

La Chaîne de l’Espoir has donated biomedical equipment worth over €100,000 to the“Le Luxembourg” Mother and Child Hospital in Bamako, Mali.

This equipment, donated by French hospitals, has been reconditioned by our biomedical engineers, guaranteeing its efficiency.

The donation crossed several West African countries before arriving in Bamako. It includes ultrasound scanners and syringe pumps, as well as operating room and resuscitation equipment.

This action is in direct response to a request from the hospital’s biomedical engineer, aimed at strengthening the operating room and intensive care units.

The donation was officially received on February 21, 2024, at a solemn ceremony held at the very heart of the hospital, attended by members of La Chaîne de l’Espoir’s Mali office, the hospital’s management and medical staff, and a representative of the Fondation Amadou Toumani Toure pour l’Enfance.

The day was an opportunity to celebrate these donations, which guarantee the continuity of care for children suffering from heart disease in Mali. Further afield, this donation also strengthens the already strong links between La Chaîne de l’Espoir and the Hôpital Mère-Enfant “Le Luxembourg”.
