Mother's Day in Thailand
Our pupils at the House of Hope in Thailand celebrate Mother’s Day
Every year on 12 August, Thailand celebrates the birthday of the Queen Mother. The country dresses in blue, blue being Friday’s colour, the day the queen was born.
At school, the festivities started the day before. Tribute was paid to the Mother of the nation and to all the Thai mothers, since 12 August is also the date chosen for Mother’s Day in Thailand.
Our schoolchildren at the House of Hope put on their best costumes and gracefully performed traditional Thai dances under the gaze of a spellbound crowd.
