Iraq: a hospital to rebuild the future in Sinjar

After Daesh's terrible atrocities in Sinjar in 2014, the Yezidi community is still suffering the consequences of this tragedy. The majority of the population is still living in displacement camps, and the region's healthcare infrastructure has been severely damaged. To help restore essential health services and encourage people to return, La Chaîne de l'Espoir has been building the French Medical Center in Sinjar since 2020.

Supported by the Iraqi Ministry of Health, the French government’s Crisis and Support Center, and the European Madad Fund, this hospital is intended to offer quality care to the local population. Opening is scheduled for 2025, marking an important step in the reconstruction and development of the region.

The Sinjar French Medical Center will offer pediatric, gynecological and obstetric services. In addition to meeting the health needs of the population, the hospital will play a crucial role in the training of local health professionals, ensuring a lasting and positive impact for the Yezidi community and surrounding regions.
